Tawny frogmouth watching from a tree

This inquisitive tawny frogmouth was staring intently at me from this branch for several minutes. Plenty of time to get a number of photos! While they are often mistaken for owls, the tawny frogmouth - native to Australia - is more closely related to nightjars.
